DEST फक्त DEO (Data Entry Operator) आणि DEO Grade A पदांसाठी आहे. यात उमेदवाराला 15 मिनिटांत 2000 Key Depressions (म्हणजे 8,000 key depressions per hour) करणे आवश्यक आहे. हे Qualifying आहे — यातील गुण Merit मध्ये नाहीत. Tax Assistants साठी Typing Test असते (2000 words in 15 minutes on computer).
